SPO killed, two injured in Doda grenade attack

Jammu, July 14 (UNI) A Special Police Officer (SPO) of Jammu and Kashmir Police were killed while two others injured in a grenade attack near Police Line in Doda district, official sources here today said.

''The grenade attack took place around 1345 hrs near police line in which one SPO namely Manzoor Ahmed died on the spot,'' Deputy Inspector General of Police H K Lohia told UNI.

Meanwhile, two others were critically wounded, including an ex-serviceman Naseeb Singh, sources said and added that they were immediately shifted to the district hospital by the locals and police for treatment.

However, security forces have cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to nab the militants, sources asserted.
