Rahul eyes LS election in Amethi visit
Amethi, July 14 (UNI) Congress general secretary and party's young scion Rahul Gandhi on first day of his visit to parliamentary constituency here today laid full emphasis on the preparedness for the forthcoming Lok Sabha election.
'' The gram panchayat chairmen should sincerely engage themselves in preparations for the approaching election,'' Mr Gandhi said in a personal intercation with them at a training camp in Jagdishpur.
The local MP, who is on a three-day visit here, also asked the gram panchyat chairmen about their training and its progress.
The officials were being provided training at the camp for cross verification of the voter's list. ''No voter should be missed,'' the Congress leader quipped.
Mr Gandhi also passed directions that he should be personnaly informed about the major problems, if any.
The Congress leader inquired about the health of some ailing gram panchayat chairmen and Congress workers in Shuklabazaar.
Later, Mr Gandhi laid the foundation stone of three roads under Prime Minister road scheme at Jaibganj village.
As per the schedule, Mr Gandhi would tomorrow participate in Building material and technology promotion council's programme in a town here and would later leave for Salon's seminar after inaugurating Bar Association Building at Gairganj.
On July 16, he will take part in Building vision programme of Rajeev Gandhi women development association at Jayas.
