Bhopal, Jul 14 (UNI) BJP President Rajnath Singh today said Prime Minister Manmohan Singh should tender resignation and seek a fresh mandate in view of the scenario created over the Indo-US nuclear deal.

''It's extremely necessary in the interest of the country. The BJP is making efforts that so the United Progressive Alliance Government is not able to win a trust vote in Parliament on July 22,'' Mr Singh told reporters here today.

However, he did not divulge his strategy in this regard.

The BJP President said the party had been pointing out from the very start that support to the Centre from Left parties was not in the interests of the country.

''However, the Centre's dependence on certain political parties to protect the government in the wake of withdrawal of support by Left parties is more dangerous,'' he noted.

Taking a dig at Left parties, Mr Singh said it kept the government in its clutches creating a danger of internal and external security of the country.

At the same time, he expressed suspicion whether withdrawing of support by Left parties had a hidden motive of diverting attention of people from burning issues of inflation, food security, internal and external security and other serious issues.

''The Congress and its allies are trying to make the nuke deal an electoral issue but the BJP would not allow it to be successful,'' the BJP President said, adding that inflation, terrorism, external security and minority appeasement are national issues that would become electoral issues and the party would make its stand on these issues clear.

Lambasting the Centre for being unable to rein in inflation, he said people holding responsible position at the Centre are providing misleading statements contending that international situations were favourable during the previous NDA Government rule but it was not so during the UPA Government rule.

Mr Singh asserted that a 'Ram temple' would be built in Ayodhya if the BJP comes to power on its own. The party had never stepped back from this stand.
