Planning Commission sets 14.5% growth target for Guj manu sec
Ahmedabad, Jul 14 (UNI) Gujarat Minister of State for Industries Saurabh Patel today said that the Planning Commission has given the state a target of 14.5 per cent growth for the manufacturing sector, considering its speedy growth rate.
The minister was speaking in an MOU signing function between General Motors India and Government of Gujarat for a public-private partnership to train students of the Tarsali Industrial Training Institute in Vadodara. He said that planning commission has recognised the potential of Gujarat and given it such a high target.
Speaking about the MoU, Mr Patel said that with the massive inflow of investment in industrial and infrastructure projects in the state, the industry required talented manpower at different levels and this initiative would help provide the technical skills required in the automobile industry.
