Mukesh Ambani likely to meet Sonia Gandhi

New Delhi, Jul 14: Business tycoon and Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) chairman Mukesh Ambani is expected to meet Sonia Gandhi in New Delhi on Monday, July 14 evening. Ambani will also meet Union Petroleum Minister Murli Deora.

The meetings come days after Samajwadi Party general secretary Amar Singh asked Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in an interview to step in the tussle going on between Mukesh Ambani and his brother, RCom chief Anil Ambani. Amar Singh has close ties with Anil Ambani.

Anil Ambani-led RCom had entered into talks with South Africa major cellphone operator MTN after the latter"s talks failed with Bharti Airtel. RCom and MTN extended their exclusive negotiations till July 21 for a potential deal, which could create a combined entity worth about USD 70 billion, which would be one the world's biggest emerging market telecom firm.
