Congress misusing CBI against political adversaries: BJP

Hyderabad, Jul 14 (UNI) Senior BJP leader and MP M Venkaiah Naidu today alleged that the ruling Congress was ''misusing'' the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) against its political adversaries.

Citing the use of the central agency against Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Bahujan Samaj Party Supremo Mayawati, he charged the Congress party with turning the CBI into ''Congress Bureau of Investigation.'' Talking to reporters here, he said the CBI had suddenly becme active against MS Mayawati after she announced the BSP's withdrawal of support to the Manmohan Singh Government before adding that these cases were pending for long.

The Congress had misused the country's premier investigation agency even against Samajwadi Party and Jharkhand Mukthi Morcha leaders, Mr Naidu charged.

The Congress-led UPA Government was using the CBI to bail out their supporters and harm the opponents, he said, adding that the Manmohan Singh Government was misusing the CBI for ''political gains'' .
