Composite index of metals, energy down

Mumbai, July 14 (UNI) The composite index of metals, energy and agro-commodities was down to 3,286.48 points at the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) today.

Most bullion contracts moved down. Gold October 08 contract declined by 0.32 pc to Rs 13,397 per 10 gms and gold August 08 contract by 0.20 pc to Rs 13301 per 10 gms.

Platinum September 08 contract rose by 1.78 pc to Rs 28,497 per 10 grams.

Metal contracts too followed the downward trend. Aluminium July 08 contract fell by 1.27 pc to Rs 140.45 per kg, copper August and November 08 contracts fell by 0.31 pc each to Rs 354.25 and Rs 354.40 per kg respectively. Nickel July 08 contract was down by 1.73 pc to Rs 918 per kg.

Lead September 08 contract was up by 1.78 pc to Rs 88.45 per kg and zinc September 08 contract was up by 0.62 pc to Rs 89.30 per kg.

Turmeric July 08 contract gained by 0.99 pc to Rs 4703 per quintal, Mentha oil September 08 contract was up by 4 pc to Rs 756.80 per kg and cardamom October 08 contract fell by 2.46 pc to Rs 575.50 per kg, MCX release said.
