K'taka: BJP justifies luring Cong MLAs to its fold
Bangalore, Jul 14: Former Bharatiya Janata Party President and MP Venkaiah Naidu today justified his party winning over some Congress and Janata Dal(S) legislators for the BJP Government's survival in Karnataka, saying the Congress had staged a coup in Goa by winning over BJP Minister Digambar Kamat by offering him the Chief Ministership.
Talking to reporters here, he however maintained that ''unhappy'' Congress and JD(S) legislators had ''voluntarily'' resigned their membership from the Karnataka State Assembly to join the BJP.
Expressing confidence that the Yediyurappa Government in Karnataka would last its full term, he said ultimately, the people would judge them as and when byelections were held.
