Batch of 804 pilgrims leave for Amarnath
Jammu, Jul 14: A fresh batch of pilgrims today left for holy cave shrine of Shri Amarnath in south Kashmir from Yatri Bhawan at Bhagwati Nagar base camp here, official sources said.
Escorted by the security personnel, the batch comprising of 804 pilgrims, which included 508 males, 173 females, 23 children and 100 sadhus, left for the holy cave shrine of Shri Amarnath at around 0530 hrs.
The caravan also included 26 light motor vehicles. The two-month-long pilgrimage for Amarnath had commenced on June 17.
Since then the pilgrimage was suspended many times due to heavy rush of pilgrims at base Baltal and Pahalgam yatra camps and bad weather.
