Yeddyurappa assures more funds for Media

Mysore, Jul 13(UNI) Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa today assured that more funds would be allocated in the Budget to be presented by him on July 17 for the development of small and medium newspapers besides Journalists in the state.

Speaking at the +Press day+ organised by the Mysore District Journalists Association here, he said that the benefits like increasing the free bus coupons to the Journalists, sites and remuneration to the senior Journalists would be considered during his period. The funds for the Department of Information would be increased in the budget.

Mr Yeddyurappa, suggesting the media persons to report true and fact without any fear and favour, said that media should try to give space for the government development projects and bring out lapses of the various programmes taken up by the government.

He sought the cooperation from the journalists in taking up the state in a model state in the country in terms of development in all fronts.

Chief Minister also assured the Mysore District Journalists Association demand of suitable places for their building and sites for the members of the association.
