UPA will lose trust vote: Venkaiah

{image-venkaih naidu_13072008.jpg news.oneindia.in}Chennai, Jul 13: BJP National Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu today said the Congress-led UPA Government at the Centre, which has been reduced to a minority following Left's withdrawal of support, would lose the trust vote in Parliament on July 22.

Talking to reporters on the sidelines of BJP National Secretary S Thirunavukkarasar's birthday celebrations here, he accused the Congress-led UPA of indulging in horse-trading to shore up the numbers in Parliament.The government at the Centre had lost majority following Left's withdrawal of support. ''But it is now making all out efforts to muster enough numbers to prove its majority'', he added.

Observing that the UPA Government would certainly be defeated in the Trust Vote, Mr Naidu said the BJP, apart from raising the Indo-US Nuke deal issue, would also target the government on several matters like rising inflation, suicide by farmers, fuel price hike and skyrocketting prices of essential commodities.

On the BJP's possible alliance partners for the next Lok Sabha polls, Mr Naidu said the BJP was ready to join hands with any party, which was keen on ''knocking out'' the UPA Government at the Centre.

Dropping enough hints of a possible tie-up again with the AIADMK in Tamil Nadu, he said ''the BJP is not against any party. We see both the Amma Katchi (AIADMK led by Ms Jayalalithaa) and the Ayya Katchi (Dr S Ramadoss-led PMK, which was recently ousted from the DMK-led DPA in the State) as the one and the same.

Asserting that the lotus was blooming in the south, Mr Naidu hoped that after tasting success in the recent Assembly polls in karnataka, the party was confident of repeating the magic in Tamil Nadu as well.
