TDP chief describes defectors as 'selfish'
Khammam, Andhra Pradesh, July 13 (UNI) Describing the leaders, who quit the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) as ''selfish,'' party President N Chandrababu Naidu today said the party gets strengthened whenever it runs into trouble.
Addressing an extended executive meeting of the party here, he claimed that the TDP's image was ''very good'' and expressed the hope that it would be voted back to power in Andhra Pradesh in the next elections.
Alleging that the leaders, who had occupied important positions in the party, had left with a ''selfish motive,'' he said there was no ''danger'' with one or two leaders quitting the party.
Those, who deserted TDP to join the party to be formed by flim actor Chiranjeevi had their own personal reasons. None of them enjoyed a strong base in their respective constituencies and their exit would not affect the party, he added.
