Jammu, Jul 13: Jammu and Kashmir BJP today said removal of state Governor N N Vohra is on the top ''priority'' of the party agenda followed by a demand that 800 kanals of land be given back to the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB).

''The demand for the removal of Mr Vohra is the well considered opinion of BJP as it is aimed at resorting the dignity and sanctity of the constitutional office,'' Prof Hari Om, party's state vice-president and spokesman, said at a press conference here.

Prof Hari Om said since his nomination as Jammu and Kashmir Governor, Mr Vohra has conducted himself in a way which has left no doubt that his whole approach is biased and partisan.

''Mr Vohra's role as interlocutor was not impartial, BJP had reservations about him being nominated as Governor,'' the party spokesman said, asserting, ''the way Mr Vohra consented to return the land transferred to the Shrine Board looked more as an expression of a deal struck between the fundamentalists in the valley and powers that be at the Centre.'' However, the proposal had sought to divide Jammu and was a step towards facilitating the Musharraf line on Kashmir, Prof Hari Om alleged, saying the Central government should take the matter into consideration and recall Mr Vohra at the earliest.

Meanwhile, the senior BJP leader added that ''political power for Jammu'' is the party's roadmap for the forthcoming Assembly elections.
