BJP's state executive meeting at Vrindavan from tomorrow
Vrindavan/Lucknow, Jul 13 (UNI) The important meeting of Uttar Pradesh Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state executive would begin here in Vrindavan from tomorrow on the backdrop of the uncertainty prevailing on the UPA government at the Centre and possible early Lok Sabha polls.
Several senior BJP leaders including party president Rajnath Singh, Vinay Katiyar, Murli Manohar Joshi, Kalraj Mishra and others will participate in the two-day meet to give a final shape to the poll strategy, organisational set up and will even discuss in brief over the candidates for the LS polls in UP.
Issues like nuclear deal and inflation besides the role of the Centre and the state governments on their failure to curb law and order and the rising prices of essential commodities would be discussed in detail during the two-day delibrations.
Though invitations have been sent to all the state and a few national leaders for the meeting, but suspense still persist whether former UP Chief Minister and party's Vice-President Kalyan Singh would go to Vrindavan or not.
Kalyan Singh, openly showing his resentment against the party leadership, had skipped most of the party meetings in the recent past.
BJP president Rajnath Singh will be the chief guest on the concluding day of the meeting on Tuesday when he will address the district presidents and the legislators. State party president Ramapati Ram Tripathi and legislature party leader Om Prakash Singh along with senior leader Lalji Tandon would be participating on the opening day meeting.
State BJP vice-president and spokesperson Hridya Narain Dikshit said here today that two resolutions-- political and economic-- would also be adopted during the meeting.
While the political resolution would deal with a strategy to how the party could gain power at the Centre and strengthening of the organisational set up, the economic resolution would express its concern over the rising inflation, rise of the prices of essential commodities and other issues, said Mr Dikshit.
The spokesperson said as the meeting is being held when the political situation in the country was in a critical stage over the Indo-US nuclear deal, several important decision are likely to be taken by the leaders.
'' The meeting will also chalk out strategy for the coming Lok Sabha polls and will focus on the party leadership view to give the state utmost importance as it holds the key to the next government at the centre'', he added.
Meanwhile, a meeting of the office bearers of the state BJP would be held here this evening to chalk out the agenda for the two- day meet.
