25 lakh middle class to get benefit under rice scheme: YSR
Hyderabad, Jul 13 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today said the Rs two-a-kilo rice scheme would be made available to 25 lakh middle class familes in the state, in view of the enhancement of income limit of the families for eligible in the scheme.
In addition to the 1.88 crore white ration card holders in the state, 25 lakh families in the state would get white ration cards.
The scheme would cost an additional amount of Rs 330 crore to the exchequor, he told newspersons here.
The government would provide rice, oil and dall to the eligible families at subsidised price through the Public Distribution System, he added.
