UPites get some respite from humid weather

Lucknow, Jul 12 (UNI) People of Uttar Pradesh got some respite from hot and sultry weather with spells of shower lashing isolated parts of the state today.

According to Met department in the last 24 hrs several districts of eastern UP received moderate to heavy rainfall. They predicted heavy rainfall in the entire state in next 48 hours.

Meanwhile, Central Water Commission reports said Kakrahi witnessed 65.2 mm rainfall, whereas Uskabazar received 58.6 mm, Bardghat 56.2 mm, Chandradeepghat 45.2, Bansi 44.6, Turtipar 42, Balrampur 25.8 mm, Bhinna 20.4 mm, Ballia 16.4 mm, Fatehgarh 15.4 mm, Mukhalispur 12.4 mm and Rigauli 11.6 mm rainfall.

River Sharda was flowing 5 cm above the danger mark at Paliyakala, whereas at Shardanagar it was 62 cm below the red mark.

Similarly, Ghaghra was recorded 32, 46 and 54 centimetres below the red mark at Ayodhya, Turtipar and Elginbridge respectively, official sources said.

However, Ganga, Yammuna, Gomti, Kane, Rapti, Gandhak, Kuano, Budhi Rapti and Ramganga, which were in spate since the last fortnight, were receding at a fast pace and had reached several degrees below the danger mark.
