Rs 1,575 crore sanctioned under JNNURAM scheme
Visakhapatnam, Jul 12 (UNI) Union Urban Development Minister S Jaipal Reddy today said 17 projects have been sanctioned under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURAM) schemes at a cost of Rs 1,575 crore for Visakhapatnam city.
Addressing the media here, he said Visakhapatnam city was being given top priority as far as development was concerned.
Under the Urban Infrastructure and Governance (UIG) scheme, ten projects with an approved cost of Rs 1,159 crore have been sanctioned.
The projects would lead to improvement and augmentation of water supply, storm water drains, bus rapid transport system (BRTS) and sewerage in the city, he said.
