Normalcy returns to trouble-hit Banglore
Bangalore, Jul 12 (UNI) Normalcy returned to J C Nagar and Hebbal areas in the city today which had witnessed violent protests against the alleged desecration of places of worship belonging to minority community yesterday.
Police resorted to teargas shells and resorted to lathi-charge to quell the violent mob which indulged in stone-pelting in protest against the incident.
Several policemen, including Deputy Commissioner of Police Altaf Hussain and several lensmen were also injured in the incidnet.
The two areas had placed been under ban orders under Section 144 of Cr PC since yesterday till midnight tomorrow.
The situation was peaceful today with traffic on the busy Bellary Road (NH seven) and Jayamahal Road restoring to normalcy.
Tight security was posted in the troubled areas with KSRP and CRPF platoons stationed at different points.
