Heavy rains lash Delhi, more rains likely on weekend
New Delhi, July 12 (UNI) After a brief lull in rainfall activity, heavy rains lashed Delhi tonight, bringing down the mercury further and providing some relief from sultry weather in the capital city.
The showers, which followed a heavily overcast sky since last night, brought down the mercury by a few degrees from the maximum of 33.6 Degree Celsius recorded earlier today.
Today's rain and thundershowers also brought relief for Delhiites from the sultry weather that the city has been experiencing for the last three days.
While bringing down mercury, the showers also caused traffic jams in many areas.
Today's showers had broken a lull in rainfall activity since the beginning of the week. More showers could be expected during the weekend with weathermen forecasting more spells of rain and thundershowers in the city during the next 48 hours.
Weathermen have forecast a generally cloudy sky in Delhi during the next 24 hours with one or two spells of rain and thundershowers.
