Ganja seized, two women peddlers held

Madurai, July 12 (UNI) Carrying out an intensified drive against narcotic peddlers, a special police team seized 4.50 kg of ganja and arrested two women peddlers at Usilampatti near here today.

Police said on a tip-off, the team conducted surprise raid in Usilampatti and arrested K Mala (47). They seized three kgs of ganja from her possession.

Similarly, police confiscated 1.50 kg of hemp from B Ramya (49) and arrested her.

The drive was going on following complaints of largescale sale of narcotic substances in rural areas the police added.
