Expedite works under EGS, urges CM

Beed, July 12 (UNI) Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh has urged government officials to expedite works under the employment guarantee scheme.

Addressing a public meeting at the Champavati Krida Mandal here, Mr Deshmukh said a scarcity-like situation was prevailing in the state and, so, the government officials have been directed to speed up works under the state EGS or NREGS and provide employment to the locals.

The Chief Minister said that directives have been issued, prohibiting officials from cutting the electrical connections of farmers.

Besides, orders have also been issued to start cattle camps, the Chief Minister informed.
