Emotions also matter: R R Patil

Beed, Maharashtra, Jul 12: Food is the first priority for man, but emotions and inspirations are also necessary and statues are a great source of inspiration, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister R R Patil said here today, defending the state government's stand to build the statue of Maratha king Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in the Arabian sea.

Mr Patil said this, after inaugurating the statue of Jijamata, mother of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, built by the Beed Municipal Corporation. ''We are still discussing the issue, but one must understand that matters of emotions and faith are as necessary as hunger,'' Mr Patil said.

Many a times nations are built on inspiration, he added.
