ACJM sends rape-accused to seven-day remand

Barrackpore, Jul 12 (UNI) Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (ACJM) of North 24 Parganas D Srinivas remanded a youth to judicial custody for allegedly raping a minor.

Police said the accused Manik Sonar, a resident of Naihati, was arrested under Section 376 of the IPC and produced before the ACJM's court.

Police acted on a specific complaint that the accused was allegedly involved in an illicit relation with a 14-year-old girl and the affair had resulted in her pregnancy.
