Welspun secures Rs 3,000 cr orders in Q1 FY09

New Delhi, Jul 11 (UNI) Welspun Gujarat Stahl Rohren Ltd, world's second largest line pipe firm, today said it has received orders worth Rs 3,000 crore in the first quarter of the current fiscal.

''The orders are from India and overseas. The orders received from overseas are primarily from diversified markets, including the American continents,'' Welspun Vice Chairman and Managing Director B K Goenka said in a statement.

With these orders, the current order book of the company stands at Rs 7,700 crore, including the orders executed during the first quarter of the current fiscal.

Welspun had recently announced commissioning of its Plate mill with a capacity of 1.5 million tonnes, which will be primarily used to produce the LSAW pipes and other high-end applications.
