UP govt sets-up social security committee

Lucknow, Jul 11 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh government today constituted a state level social security committee to monitor the social security programmes that are being carried out for the welfare of SC/ST and Below Poverty Line (BPL) families.

Social Welfare Department has been made the nodal department into the new committee, while chief secretary would be the chairperson of the committee, official sources said.

Agricultural production commissioner, social welfare commissioner and principal secretaries of various departments, including Finanace, Planning, Rural development, Women and Child Welfare, Family welfare, Panchayati Raj, Minority Welfare, would be the members in the social security committee.
