Town Planners charge sheeted for not checking violations

Chandigarh, Jul 11 (UNI) The Punjab Government today charge sheeted two Municipal Town Planners and two Assistant Town Planners for failing to check construction violations in Amritsar and Jalandhar.

In addition five Building Inspectors of the two cities have also been charge sheeted for similar offences, Local Bodies Minister Manoranjan Kalia here stated.

Likwise three Executive Officers, four Assistant Trust Engineers, four Junior Engineers and a Draftsman have been charge sheeted for not taking timely action against building violations in Phagwara.

These charge sheets were filed after the Local Bodies department checked certain buildings at Amritsar, Jalandhar and Phagwara for alleged violations in construction works. The department after the checking detected 'non-compoundable violations' at all the three places.
