Ten antique idols stolen from temple

Bangalore, Jul 11 (UNI) As many as ten antique panchaloha idols have been stolen from the 800-year-old Lakshmikantha temple in Kallage village in Nanjangud taluk of the district.

Police said the crime committed last night came to light when the priest opened the temple this morning.

It is suspected that a five-member gang was involved in the crime. They had come to the temple last evening and only three had left while the remaining two had remained in the temple. Later they removed the idols and fled.

Superintendent of Police Ramasubba visited the spot.
