Strict action to be taken for providing wrong info in C'garh Assly
Raipur, July 11 (UNI) The matter of sending minor children arrested during the Satnami Samaj agitation in Bodsara village in Bilaspur to jail instead of child reformation centre was raised in the Chhattisgarh Vidhan Sabha today.
Raising the matter during the Question Hour, Mohammed Akbar (Cong) said Satyaprakash (13), Anil (16), Lakshmi (16), Budhram (17), Golu (16) and Mahendra (15) were arrested during the Satnami Samaj agitation in Bodsara village in Bilaspur and their age was mentioned 18 in order to send them to jail.
Home Minister Ramvichar Netam said police recorded their age on the basis of guess. He claimed that children had not been kept in jail but lodged in child reformation centre.
At this, Congress member created uproar in the House asking whether the information mentioned in the written reply was correct or whether what the minister was stating was true.
Mr Netam said strict action would be taken against those officials who had provided wrong information in the Vidhan Sabha.
Vidhan Sabha Speaker Premprakas Pandey pointed out that the department must have made amendment if wrong information had been provided but that has not been done. He directed taking action against concerned officials.
The Home Minister said the matter would be inquired into and strict action taken against guilty officials.
