Panaji, July 11 (UNI) The South Eastern Railway (SER) has cancelled five trains and diverted another train following breaches between Kharagpur-Bhadrak section, according to official sources here today.

The worst hit was Howrah-Vasco-Howrah Express pair (87047&8048), which had not been running since June 19 following the breaches, causing untold miseries to the passengers.

The authorities had cancelled the train till July 20, adding to the miseries of the passengers travelling from the west coast to the east.

The public severely criticised the railway authorities for cancelling the train, as there is no other train from Vasco to Howrah and back, which runs only four days in a week.

The people demanded the authorities to run the train from Vasco to Bhubhaneswar or Visakhapatnam at least till the track was repaired in Howrah division.

''Why should the passengers in south western and south central railway suffer when the track was damaged in the eastern division for so long,'' they questioned.

The other trains cancelled till July 20 are: The 5227/5228 Yesvantpur-Muzaffarpur-Yesvantpur Weekly Express, 2835/2836 Hatia-Yesvantpur-Hatia Bi-Weekly Express, 2889/2890 Tatanagar-Yesvantpur-Tatanagar Weekly Express, 0201/0202 Yesvantpur-Guwahati-Yesvantpur Weekly Express Special.

The authorities, however, diverted the train 2863/2864 Howrah- Yesvantpur-Howrah Express via Kharagpur, Bilaspur, Nagpur, Balharshah, Kazipet, Vijayawada&Jolarpettai stations with immediate effect.

At the sametime, the train 2509/2510 Bangalore-Guwahati-Bangalore Express is restored from today.
