MLC declared absconder in Bihar

Patna, Jul 11: Salman Rageev alias Munna Mian, an independent member of the Bihar Legislative Council, has been declared an absconder by a fast track court of Nawada.

Judge Narendra Bahadur Singh also ordered putting out advertisments in view of the MLC's continued absence from the court despite several summons.

The judge declared Munna Mian an absconder in a case related to his alleged involvement in looting Rs 2.42 lakh from one Mahendra Prasad Yadav of Kendua village in 1998.

On July 4 the court issued a non bailable arrest warrant against the MLC as he had failed to appear before it despite repeated summons.

Incidentally, Munna Mian was released on bail by Patna High Court last month in connection with the Rs 3 crore sand mining scam.

He was arrested in May in connection with the scam in which Independent MLA Kaushal Yadav from Govindpur had also been made an accused. The duo had been charged with withdrawing money from the treasury through fake bills.
