'Media people' arrested for extorting businessman through sex racket

New Delhi, Jul 11 (UNI) Police today claimed to have busted an extortion racket, working under the guise of mediapersons, with the arrest of four people, including a women, from the Tilak Nagar area in west Delhi.

Brijesh alias Neeraj (30), Rajkumar (29), Neeraj Sanger (32) and Vandana Soni (20) were arrested yesterday while receiving the extortion amount from a south Delhi businessman, said the police.

The accsued had demanded Rs ten lakh for handing over the video recording of the businessman having sex with Vandana, who worked as a 'reporter' for 'News India' and 'Reporter's Eyes' - being run by mastermind and accused Akhilesh alias Rajesh.

While Brijesh was the 'editor', Raj Kumar was 'senior reporter' and Neeraj Kumar a 'technician' in the media house.

The trap to arrest the accused was made after the businessman complained that he has been trapped into the racket after befriending the girl Vandana, who posed as a reporter and met him on phone.
