Former Excise official convicted in bribery case

Hyderabad, July 11 (UNI) Additional Special Judge for Anti-Corruption Bureau Cases here convicted Former Assistant Excise Superintendent of Nalgonda District and sentenced him to one-year rigorous imprisonment for offences under various sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act.

The judge also slapped a fine of Rs 10,000 on G Daniel and ordered the government to confiscate disproportionate assets worth Rs 6.76 lakh.

Earlier, during the course of investigation conducted by the ACB, he was found in possession of assets worth Rs 11.55 lakh disproportionate to the known sources of his income, according to a release here today.
