Fishermen stage demonstration against Sri Lankan attack

Rameswaram, Jul 11 (UNI) Over 500 fishermen, affiliated to Ramanathapuram District Fish Workers Trade Union, staged a demonstration to protest against the attack by the Sri Lankan Navy, near taluk office here today.

The agitators urged the Centre to protect the lives of innocent fishermen.

Meanwhile, more than 3,000 fishermen were on an indefinite strike since Saturday last to protest against the highhandedness of the Sri Lankan Navy here.
