Fake currency of Rs 1.8 lakh seized, one held
New Delhi, Jul 11 (UNI) An ISI trained man has been arrested from the Model Town area of north Delhi along with fake Indian currency of Rs 1.8 lakh.
Mohammad Mustaqim, a mechanic by profession, was arrested on July 8 along with counterfeit Indian currency amounting to Rs 1.8 lakh near Chhatrasal Stadium while he was about to hand over the 'consignment'to his associate, police said today.
The notes were in Rs 1,000, 500 and 100 denomination.
Interrogation of the accused led to the disclosure that the currency was being routed through Bangladesh from Pakistan and supplied by an ISI operative functioning from Bangladesh.
The arrest was made by Special Cell sleuths following intelligence inputs to this effect.
