CM refuses to order probe into spending by Governor Jamir
Panaji, July 11 (UNI) Goa Chief Minister Digambar Kamat today spurned opposition BJP's suggestion for a probe into the alleged abuse of authority and funds by outgoing Governor S C Jamir as the ''constitutional office should not be brought to disrepute''.
''I offer no comments as the Governor's office is constitutional and it should be held in high esteem. No one should try to criticize the gubernatorial office,'' Mr Kamat quipped.
He was reacting to the demand of BJP, which charged the Governor with abusing his authority and funds, while seeking an inquiry.
It might be recalled that Mr Jamir was posted to Maharashtra till completion of his term.
