Bhubaneswar to host 4th 'Indaqua 2009'
Kochi, Jul 11 (UNI) The temple city of Bhubaneswar, Orissa, will host the 4th 'Indaqua 2009' from January 21 to 23, 2009, showcasing aquaculture products and services provided by major players in the industry.
The aquaculture show, organised by the Kochi-based Marine Products Export Development Authority (MPEDA), is a major platform for traders to know about opportunities in the sector and build a network with industry leaders, MPEDA officials told UNI here today.
The three-day show also aims at creating new investment opportunities by bringing together foreign and Indian buyers, they said.
This is the first time that Bhubaneswar would be hosting the meet, which is expected to be attended by aqua farmers, entrepreneurs, farm associates, aquaclubs, technicians, policy makers from the Central and state governments and representatives of research organisations from India and abroad.
A separate exhibition of seafood processors, aquaculture accessories, ancillary equipment and machinery suppliers would also be organised as part of the event. There would also be technical sessions on topical subjects.
According to the MPEDA, India exported marine products worth US$ 1.88 billion during 2007-08.
