Timely action could have saved the situation:Executive Committee

Srinagar, Jul 10 (UNI) Endorsing the pull-out of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from the Ghulam Nabi Azad-led Government, the party's Executive Committee today reiterated that the decision was timely and in tune with the public sentiment.

As the PDP has time and again restated its commitment to stand by the people of the state, its pull-out from the Government has fully reiterated that resolve, the Executive Committee observed.

PDP had convened a special session of its Executive Committee here today to discuss the state's political situation in the aftermath of the fall of azad-led coalition Government.

The meeting was presided over by the party President Mehbooba Mufti.

The meeting observed that the decision of the PDP leadership to pull-out from the Government mounted additional pressure on Azad Government to revoke the land diversion order that had resulted in mass uprising across the State.

The meeting observed that despite strenuous efforts by the PDP leadership including the party Patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed to get the land diversion issue resolved amicably, in the very first place, Azad's obstinacy led to the massive crisis that engulfed the whole State.
