New Bihar Governor R L Bhatia assumes office today

Patna, Jul 10 (UNI) R L Bhatia today took over as the new Governor of Bihar, here today.

He was administered the oath of office by Chief Justice of Patna High Court R M Lodha at a function at the Raj Bhavan in presence of a distinguished gathering.

Among those present on the occasion were Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, his Deputy Sushil Kumar Modi, Leader of the Opposition in Assembly and former Chief Minister Rabri Devi, all Cabinet and state Ministers, Speaker Udai Naraian Chaudhary, Legislative Council Chairman Arun Kumar, Chief Secretry R J M Pillai and several other senior civil and military officials.

Mr Bhatia, who was the Governor of Kerala, replaced R S Gavai, who has now been appointed the Governor of Kerala.
