NDA-sponsored bandh paralyses J'khand, Munda consigned to flames

Ranchi, Jul 10 (UNI) Jharkhand today spontaneously responded to the NDA-sponsored dawn-to-dusk bandh to protest against yesterday's maoist strike that left former minister and JD(U) MLA Ramesh Singh Munda and three others dead in Bundu district.

NDA supporters took out a rally this morning in the state capital carrying the body of slain JD (U) legislator who was consigned to flames later in the afternoon here.

Police said no untoward incident was reported from any part of the state during the bandh that ended peacefully.

Reports from all the district headquarters said the bandh was almost total all over the state.

The educational institutions, banks, commercial hubs remained closed here and there was hardly any attendance in the government offices.
