Kerala HC rejects Harrisons Malayalam plea
Kochi, July 10 (UNI) The Kerala High Court today declined to quash a decision of the State Government to take steps to repossess the land held by Harrisons Malayalam Pvt Ltd on the ground its lease period was over.
Mr Justice S Sirijagan also declined to quash the decision of the government to appoint Mr Justice L Manoharan to peruse the documents on the basis of which a high-level committee had recommended the repossession of the land from the company.
The court said there was absolutely no reason to suspect that the government would decide against the petitioner without complying with natural justice and procedures provided for.
Harrisons Malayalam had challenged the government decision contending it was not provided with a copy of the committee report recommending repossession.
