Jamiat demands probe into MP violence
Bhopal, July 10 (UNI) The Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind today urged Madhya Pradesh Governor Balram Jakhar to ensure a judicial probe into the death of seven persons at Madhya Pradesh's Indore and Satna in communal violence during and after the Vishva Hindu Parishad-sponsored Bharat bandh on July 3.
A delegation led by the organisation's state Convenor Haji Mohammad Haroon submitted a memorandum to Dr Jakhar in this regard.
Mr Haroon alleged to reporters here that all the Indore fatalities were caused by police firing and a Central Bureau of Investigation inquiry should be ordered to uncover police involvement in the violence.
''A police inquiry will not be enough. Compensation of Rs 10 lakh each should be provided to the victims' families and a government job each to every affected family,'' he added.
