Malappuram, Jul 10 (UNI) Setting at rest speculation on parting ways with the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) at the Centre, the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) today said it would support the ruling coalition in the event of a trust vote in the Lok Sabha on the contentious muclear deal issue.

''We will remain with the UPA and vote in favour of a trust vote'' Minister of State for External Affairs and senior leader of the IUML, E Ahamed, which has one member in the Lower House, told newspersons after a meeting of a high-powered committee of the party here.

The meet also decided against withdrawing its representative from the Manmohan Singh cabinet, he added.

However, he said, the party would convey its strong resentment against the proposed nuke deal with the United States, to the UPA at its coordination committee meeting at New Delhi tomorrow.

Apart from Mr Ahamed, the meeting held at the residence of the IUML Kerala State President Panakkad Syed Mohammedali Shihab Thangal was attended by many state leaders, including general secretary P K Kunhalikutty and top leaders from Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu and Karnakata.

Speculation was abound on the possibility of the lone-member IUML withdrawing its representative from the cabinet following pressure from various Muslim organisations as the proposed deal was allegedly detrimental to the interests of the Muslim community in the country.
