Pondy: Helmets not compulsory as yet
Puducherry, Jul 10: The Puducherry administration has again postoned making wearing of helmets by two-wheeler riders in the union territory, compulsory.
Superintendent of police (Traffic) Mr Kuppusamy, in a press release here today said it was being postponed without mentioning a specific date, on the oders of DGP Mr.Khan.
There were widespreaded protests from the public here for forcing two wheeler riders to wear helmets in Puducherry town where no motorist could drive at a speed more than 20 Kms. and because of the protest it was postponed though the police maintained that it was to give more time for the public to purchase quality helmets.
