HC notice to Gill on Khalra murder case

Chandigarh, July 10 (UNI) Punjab and Haryana High Court today issued notice for September 9 to former Punjab Director General Police K P S Gill to file his response to the plea for registration of a criminal case against him and a CBI probe into the custodial killing over a decade back of Amritsar-based human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra.

The notice was issued by the Division Bench of Justice M M Kumar and Justice (Mrs) Sabina.

The order came after resumed hearing on the petition of Paramjit Kaur Khalra, wife of the deceased.

The CBI on its part had already apprised the court that the agency did not come across any evidence to link Mr Gill to the Khalra killing in the nineties.
