Unwell yatri airlifted from Sheshnag
Srinagar, Jul 9 (UNI) A woman yatri was today airlifted from Sheshnag when she fell seriously ill on way to holy Amarnath cave, official sources said this evening.
They said the yatri identified as Guddi, a resident of Jammu who alongwith her husband was enroute Shri Amarnath Yatra from traditional Pahalgam route, developed High Altitude Pulmonary Edema near Sheshnag.
She was immediately taken to medical camp from where on the advice of doctors, the divisional administration in collaboration with Shrine Board airlifted her to Baltal where she is being provided necessary medicare.
More than 40 pilgrims, besides two locals, have so for died since the start of the two-month-long pilgrimage on June 18. More than five lakh pilgrims from all over country have so far visited the holy Shrine from both Baltal and Pahalgam routes.
