Samajawadi Party's Gujarat unit dissolved

Vadodara, Jul 9 (UNI) Newly-appointed president of the Gujarat unit of the Samajwadi Party (SP) Surendrasingh Yadav today dissolved the party's state executive body and all its district units.

Announcing this at a press conference here, Mr Yadav said the decision to dissolve all the units was taken in consultation with party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav, with a view to revamp the organisation in the state.

The entire exercise to reconstitute the district and state executive bodies would be completed within one month, Mr Yadav said and hoped that his party would give a meaningful fight to both the BJP and Congress in Gujarat with the support of other like-minded parties.

Defending his party's decision to back the Congress-led UPA Government at the Centre on the Indo-US nuclear deal, Mr Yadav said the SP supported the deal as it was in the interest of the nation and barring the BJP and Left, no one wanted an early election to the Lok Sabha.
