HP HC asks government to file fresh affidavit

Shimla, Jul 9 (UNI) The Himachal Pradesh High Court today asked the state government to file a detailed affidavit on its show-cause notice to the Dutch company Brakel Corporation over two proposed hydropower plants.

The court, in its order, directed the state to file the affidavit within 10 days.

The state government had issued a show-cause notice to Brakel on Juklt seven, asking why its contract for 960 MW Thopan-Powari project and the Jangi-Thopan project in Kinnaur district should not be cancelled and the upfront premium deposited by it forfeited.

The government had taken a serious note of the company providing wrong information to it regarding its financial and technical competence.
