Forty children hospitalised after consuming jatropha fruit
Sangrur, Jul 9 (UNI) As many as 40 school children were hospitalised after consuming the fruit from jatropha trees in Rorrekalan village in Barnala district today, police sources here said.
According to reports, the children plucked the fruit from the trees planted in the Government School compound. A majority of those who consumed the fruit fell unconscious while others complained of sickness.
They were all rushed to the civil hospital at Barnala, where their condition was stated to be stable. The district administration is likely to order an inquiry into the incident.
