Black 'dupattas' hurled at Speaker in MP Assly
Bhopal, Jul 9 (UNI) Throwing parliamentary etiquette to the winds, agitated opposition Congress members hurled black 'dupattas' at Speaker Ishwardas Rohani in the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly today.
Mr Rohani, however, rejected a 'censure motion' brought by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Narottam Mishra against the Opposition for hurling the black 'dupatta' at the Speaker.
Opposition Congress members, draping black dupattas on their shoulders protesting the BJP government not heeding their demand for a judicial inquiry into the riots in Indore and other places, trooped into the well of the House and raised slogans against the government and swayed dupattas in the air.
Later, they started hurling the 'Dupattas' on the Speaker's table attracting rebuke from the chair for their ''indecent behaviour''.
At one stage, BJP members also menacingly reached the well of the house to take on the Congress members but they were persuaded to return to their seats by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and other senior BJP ministers.
During the protest, Opposition also formed a human chain by joining their dupattas in the well of the house.
