BJP calls 12-hour bandh in Arunachal tomorrow
Itanagar, Jul 9 (UNI) The Arunachal Pradesh unit of the BJP has called a 12-hour statewide bandh tomorrow to protest the price rise of essential commodities.
Party sources said the strike would be spearheaded by the BJP's youth wing Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM).
The party's demand list included grant of additional subsidies, smooth supply of LPG cylinders, addressing the law and order problems in the state, probe on alleged mismanagement of SSA funds, scarcity of PDS items and proper assessment of the damage inflicted by floods in various parts of the state.
Tomorrow's strike would also protest against revoking of the land transfer order to the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board in Jammu and Kashmir, the sources said.
However, the media, milk vans, water supply, power supply restoration work, vehicles on magisterial duty, medical services and ambulance would be kept out of the bandh's purview, the sources added.
